Archipelago Investments provides investment management and use FCG Fund Management as our Fund Platform. FCG Fund Management, offer a full-service solution for both UCITS-, and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs).

Archipelago Capital Management, is an independent investment solution, driven by investor profile and governed by investor mandate.

Archipelago Strategies, currently include – Chelonia Select.

Archipelago Incubator is actively looking for Start Up or Emerging Fund Managers. The Fund Incubator search for highly experienced fund managers who are either in the start-up phase and are not yet regulated or where they need to be structured as an investment manager to a regulated fund management company.

Organisation

Anders Palmqvist

Managing Partner and CIO

Prior to founding Archipelago Investments Anders was CEO UBS Group Nordic Region. Anders spent 21 years at UBS after joining predecessor firm O’Connor & Associates / Arbitech.

From 2003 to 2014 Anders was CEO and Country Head Nordic Region and spearheaded UBS Group’s strategy in the region across the Investment Bank and the Investment Management divisions UBS Wealth Management and UBS Asset Management. Since 2008 Anders was a member of UBS EMEA Management and appointed CEO of UBS Sweden in 2003 and promoted Managing Director in 2002. Anders has also held various functions in Stockholm and London within the Equities division.

Anders holds a M.Sc. degree from Stockholm School of Economics with a major in Financial Economics and participated in The Wharton School, MBA Graduate International Exchange Program. Anders has attended the Swedish Infantry Officer Academy (InfOHS) in Halmstad.

 

Magnus Angenfelt

Partner and Portfolio Manager

Magnus experience include co-Founder, CEO and CIO of the successful TMT focused Equity Long/Short Hedge Fund Manticore (2000-11) and financial analyst within the Global Equity Long/Short Hedge Fund Zenit, both funds part of Brummer and Partners. Prior to joining the hedge fund industry Magnus was a highly ranked sell-side analyst at the leading local investment bank Alfred Berg and a journalist at the Swedish business magazine Affärsvärlden.

In 2013 Magnus published a book; “The World’s 99 Greatest Investors – The Secret of Success”, providing a brief résume of the investors investment philosophy and style and sharing their advice and insights garnered from at least 25 years of experience. The book contains about as many strategies as there are investors, and that is the moral of the book; the path to becoming a successful investor is not lined with miraculous universal formulas.

Magnus holds a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration and Economics from Uppsala University. Magnus has attended the Swedish Infantry Officer Academy (InfOHS) in Halmstad.

 

Thomas Gunnarsson

Chairman

Thomas is former CEO/Director of ATP Alpha, an internal Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund of ATP. In this capacity Thomas was part of building and managing an award winning multi-$billion alpha operation at one of Europe’s largest Pension Funds. Thomas recent experience is CIO Alternatives & Multi-Assets at Nykredit Asset Management.

Thomas joined the Danish Pension Fund ATP as a Portfolio Manager in 2004 and from 2006 to 2013 held the positions Chief Risk Officer, co-CIO, CFO and CEO of ATP Alpha. ATP Alpha was built to an organization of some 35 investment professionals and made up of 10 separate investment teams. ATP Alpha was the Investment Advisor of Alpha One SICAV-FIS, a regulated and listed Luxembourg fund with $2bn NAV, and in 2009 ATP Alpha was the recipient of IPE award for Hedge Fund Investing. Past experience also include CFO at BankInvest and CIO at Sparinvest. Thomas is currently CEO of The Pine Ridge Brewery.

Thomas holds a M.Sc. degree from Stockholm School of Economics with a major in Financial Economics.

 

Bo R Svensson

Board Member

Bo brings 25+ years of global financial services and financial markets experience to Archipelago Investments’ Board.

Bo began his career in finance as a Management Consultant with McKinsey & Company, serving financial institutions globally in the areas of strategy and operations. He later joined Lehman Brothers Inc., in New York and Tokyo, as Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Development covering the Americas, Europe and Asia. Currently, Bo is a Private Investor based in New York.

Bo holds a M.Sc. degree from Stockholm School of Economics with dual majors in Economics and Finance and participated in The Wharton School, MBA Graduate International Exchange Program.

 

Maria Andark

Board Member

Maria is an experienced board member, including public listed companies, private family owned corporations and non profit organizations.

Maria’s work experience include Head of Communications and Member of Senior Management Committee at Stockholm Stock Exchange and Head of Investor Relations of public listed company. Maria has extensive background as a Consultant focused on Communications and Investor Relations. Maria is former Board Member, Vice Chairman and CEO (Klubbdirektör) of SSK (Södertälje Sport Klubb).

Maria holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Uppsala University and Diploma from IHM Business School.

 

Steve Nylund

Board Member

Steve is an accomplished management executive with extensive entrepreneurial, operational, corporate development and board leadership experience.

Steve began his career at the investment company Kinnevik and he spent in total 16 years within the ‘Stenbeck sphere’. Steve was a key member of the Senior Executive Management Team within Kinnevik that successfully built, listed and led two leading international media groups (Modern Times Group and Metro International). Past Experience also include CEO of Red Bee Media (London), a world leading provider of broadcast and media services part of Ericsson and Vice President Head of Operations within Ericsson Global Services. Steve’s current position is President North America Region North & East at Anticimex, based in New York.

Steve has studied at Stockholm School of Economics and participated in UCLA Anderson School of Management, MBA Graduate International Exchange Program. Steve has attended the Swedish Infantry Officer Academy (InfOHS) in Halmstad.
